A flight through time
The collections cover more than 100 aircraft: from a replica of the Wright Flyer to iconic commercial airliners, along with rare machines such as the Douglas DC-2 “Uiver,” still airworthy, and the Boeing 747-200SUD “Louis Blériot,” which visitors can explore from the inside.
Immersion and interactivity
- A flight simulator and a 4D cinema to step into the shoes of a pilot.
- A reconstruction of Schiphol’s first terminal (1928) with a café, films and a ticket counter for discovery flights.
- Outdoor areas for children: an aviation-themed playground and viewing points overlooking the airfield.
History & context
Born from the former Aviodome Museum at Schiphol and relocated to Lelystad in 2003, Aviodrome is now both educational and family-friendly. It reopened in 2012 after a challenging period, revitalised thanks to a new visitor concept and renewed activities.
Why stop here
Because you can literally step inside a Boeing, touch the history of aviation, feel like a pilot, and enjoy an immersive, educational—and simply fantastic—outing for all ages.
