A one-of-a-kind museum
Located in Amsterdam’s historic city centre, the Cannabis Museum invites visitors to discover the plant in all its facets. Far from clichés, it offers a documented and interactive look at its industrial, culinary and medicinal uses, as well as its role in Dutch history.
An interactive and lively experience
The visit spans three floors, featuring a wide range of installations: indoor ecosystem, live plants, microscope, cannabis-testing machine… The goal is to let visitors explore the plant’s botanical properties and modern cultivation techniques while learning in a playful and engaging way.
A journey through history and science
The museum traces the origins of cannabis, from the steppes of Central Asia to its arrival in Amsterdam’s coffee shops. The exhibition explores the social, political and scientific developments related to the plant, and how myths and propaganda have shaped its perception over time.
A plant with countless uses
Textiles, paper, bioplastic, food, medicine… the museum highlights the many advantages of cannabis from a global and responsible perspective. The exhibition emphasises the ecological and therapeutic potential of this often misunderstood plant.
A museum… and a shop
At the end of the visit, visitors can stop by the museum shop. It offers original souvenirs, educational items and a small surprise gift for every visitor. A relaxed way to end the experience while extending the discovery.
